Mini Split Disconnect Install Done Right

Mini Split Disconnect Install Done Right image

When someone gets a mini split installed, the disconnect box is usually the last thing on their mind. That's fair - it's a small gray box on the side of the house. But skip it or do it wrong, and you've got a safety problem and a headache waiting to happen.

Here's the thing about disconnects - they exist so the HVAC system can be safely de-energized right at the unit. That matters for service calls, repairs, and general safety. Without one, your HVAC tech has to go all the way back to the panel every time they need to cut power. That slows things down and, more importantly, creates real risk.

We make sure the disconnect is sized correctly for the mini split it's feeding, mounted in a clean and accessible location, and wired in a way that's code-conscious. It's one of those details that doesn't get noticed when it's done right - but gets noticed immediately when it's done wrong.

This is the kind of work we do on every mini split job. No shortcuts. Clean conduit run, proper breaker replacement or addition at the panel, and a disconnect setup that actually makes sense for the system. Whether it's a single-zone unit or a multi-zone setup, the electrical side of things deserves the same attention as everything else.
